The Mathmos Astro is the original lava lamp designed by Edward Craven Walker in 1963. It is made in Britain from polished aluminium and uses Mathmos’ own lava formula with clear liquid. The lamp includes a halogen bulb made to direct heat into the wax. It needs 1 to 2 hours to warm up and works best in rooms between 20 and 24 degrees.
